After a successful career in finance and procurement with Fortune 500 and Fortune 100 companies, as well as rehabilitation technology and residential treatment facilities, Troy sensed a clear calling from God to serve others in a more personal and meaningful way. In 2023, he made a deliberate career transition to pursue becoming a licensed professional counselor.

Troy is currently an intern under supervision at Lantern Lane Farm Counseling in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, while completing a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University.

In his clinical work, Troy primarily integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Focused Marital Therapy (FMT), while drawing from additional evidence-based approaches to meet each client where they are and tailor care to their individual needs.

Troy’s passion for counseling is deeply shaped by personal experience. Individual and couples therapy played a critical role in his healing and in strengthening his family relationships. In 2024, he experienced the unexpected loss of his wife, an experience that continues to shape his compassion for those navigating grief and profound loss. He is especially passionate about supporting individuals grieving a spouse, men facing relational challenges, and couples seeking healthier communication and deeper connection.

He enjoys spending time with his fiancée, Michelle, his daughter, Natalie, and friends. In his free time, he enjoys watching new TV shows, playing board games, card games, and tabletop role-playing games. He is actively involved at Hillcrest Baptist Church in Lebanon, Tennessee, where he leads GriefShare, teaches Sunday School, and serves in the choir. His faith and personal journey inform both his life and his work with clients.
