Marian Malek

A-LPC/MHSP - Associate Licensed Professional Counselor and Equine Specialist

Marian has proudly called Nashville, Tennessee, home since 2005 and brings a rich multicultural perspective to her work as a therapist. Originally from Egypt and fluent in Arabic, Marian is passionate about bridging cultural understanding in mental health care. She holds a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Trevecca Nazarene University, building on her Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Counseling.

With over eleven years of experience in the mental health field, Marian is an associate licensed professional counselor (A-LPC) at Lantern Lane Farm Counseling, where she works with children, adolescents, young adults, and families. She supports clients navigating concerns such as trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism, OCD, bullying, codependency, and life transitions. Marian strives to create a safe, compassionate, and supportive environment where clients feel heard, understood, and respected. She works collaboratively with each client to identify their strengths, develop healthy coping skills, and work toward their individual goals.

Marian previously worked as an intake counselor at TrustPoint Hospital, where she conducted initial psychiatric assessments, evaluated individuals experiencing acute mental health challenges and crises, and helped determine appropriate levels of care. This experience strengthened her ability to recognize symptoms of various mental health disorders, assess clinical needs, and connect individuals and families with appropriate treatment services. Her experience in inpatient mental health settings also provided her with a strong foundation in acute psychiatric care and crisis intervention.

Marian is trained in brainspotting and holds certification through the Equine-Assisted Growth and Learning Association (EAGALA), allowing her to integrate trauma-informed and experiential approaches into her practice. Marian previously worked as a registered behavior technician (RBT) at an ABA clinic, where she provided structured behavioral support to children with autism ranging in age from 2 to 13 years old. Additionally, she has worked in long-term care settings supporting children and adolescents who have experienced sexual abuse or exhibited sexually harmful behaviors. These experiences have allowed Marian to work with individuals and families from diverse backgrounds and with diverse needs.

Marian’s therapeutic approach is rooted in compassion, cultural sensitivity, and a deep commitment to serving individuals and families across the lifespan. She is passionate about working with underserved and minority populations and advocating for accessible, equitable mental health care. Marian believes in meeting clients where they are and providing individualized support that honors their unique experiences, strengths, and goals.

Outside of her professional life, Marian enjoys spending time with her husband, family, and friends. Her interests include horseback riding, hiking, camping, traveling, and relaxing with a good show or movie.
