Rebecca Gilliland
A-LPC/MHSP - Associate Licensed Professional Counselor
Rebecca works with adolescents, adults, couples, and families. She has a special passion for helping individuals navigate anxiety, trauma, attachment wounds, identity concerns, grief, and spiritual struggles. Rebecca believes that meaningful change happens within the context of a strong therapeutic relationship where clients feel seen, heard, and valued. She views therapy as a collaborative process in which counselor and client think together to understand patterns, explore possibilities, and discover meaningful paths toward healing and growth.
With over 17 years of experience in pastoral counseling, mentoring, and ministry, Rebecca brings a compassionate and relational approach to therapy. She also served as a school counselor for six years at an International Baccalaureate (IB) school in Germany, supporting students and families from diverse cultural backgrounds. Rebecca is currently completing her Ph.D. in Mental Health Counseling at Belmont University and holds a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Lee University. She is also trained in Brainspotting and incorporates evidence-based approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), while tailoring therapy to each client’s unique needs, values, and goals.
For clients who desire it, Rebecca enjoys integrating faith and spirituality into the counseling process. She believes that healing involves the whole person—mind, body, emotions, relationships, and, when appropriate, spiritual well-being.
Rebecca works with clients experiencing a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, and other mood-related challenges; obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD); trauma and PTSD; attachment and relationship difficulties; life transitions and grief; self-esteem and identity development; and spiritual or faith-related concerns. She also enjoys supporting couples and families, addressing women’s issues, encouraging ministry leaders and those serving in faith-based roles, and helping individuals navigate the unique challenges associated with cross-cultural and expatriate experiences.
Rebecca’s goal is to help clients discover greater freedom, resilience, and hope as they move toward the life they desire.
