Audrey Shinar, LPC- MHSP
Audrey steadfastly believes that anyone can heal when sufficiently supported in a counseling relationship. Audrey is passionate about cultivating an accepting, confidential, therapeutic environment with space for tears, laughter, and authentic connection. Audrey has met many resilient adolescents and adults through her prior work as a Behavioral Specialist at the Partial Hospitalization level of care with individuals with OCD, Eating Disorders, and Mood Disorders.
Audrey is a native Nashvillian who holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and History from Vanderbilt University, making her a “Double Dore!”
Audrey is trained in Exposure and Response Prevention, Behavioral Activation, Brainspotting, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Internal Family Systems. Audrey incorporates elements of experiential therapy when appropriate, including art and creative modalities, self-compassion work, and mindfulness into the therapeutic space. Audrey is passionate about helping adults and adolescents with anxiety, trauma, self-esteem issues, Autism Spectrum Disorder, perfectionism, and highly sensitive people. In her free time, Audrey can be found practicing hot yoga, reading outside, walking her Golden Retriever, and watching historical dramas.
