Cortney Smith

Cortney holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and is currently pursuing a Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy at Trevecca Nazarene University. Her passion lies in working with individuals and families to help navigate life's challenges, such as anxiety, depression, grief, transitions, and spiritual or religious issues.

Her approach to counseling is rooted in empathy, compassion, and genuine connection, with a focus on being trauma-informed and utilizing an attachment lens. She believes that building a strong, trusting relationship is the cornerstone of effective therapy. Her goal is to create a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space. Cortney believes that the best therapy happens when you feel heard, understood, and comfortable enough just to be you.

Whether you're facing a tough life transition, dealing with the weight of anxiety or depression, coping with loss, or grappling with spiritual and religious concerns, she is there to walk alongside you on your journey. Together, you will work towards understanding your unique situation and find strategies to help you thrive. She cannot wait to connect and start this journey toward healing and growth together. She wants to make this your time to thrive!

When not at the counseling office, Cortney has worked with children and families as a professional nanny for the past 14 years. Coupled with her past experience as a foster parent, this has given her unique insight and perspective on a variety of family issues. She enjoys backpacking, paddle boarding, hanging out with her two dogs, and baking.
